“I don’t think there is a place in the world more ideal than Pantelleria to think of the moon. And Pantelleria is much more beautiful. The endless plains of volcanic rock, the calm sea […]” Gabriel García Márquez.
This enchanting island, halfway between Sicily and Africa (70 km from Tunisia, 120 km from Sicily), is, for many, the centre, the heart of the Mediterranean. For years, sun lovers would spend unforgettable summer holidays here, the clear waters promising something utterly incomparable for lovers of water sports such as diving and snorkelling.
The boat trips around the island give the visitor magnificent views of the rocky coastline with its caves surrounded by crystal waters. Not to mention the many other emotions you feel as you visit the island’s interior with green countryside and rolling hills. The fertile volcanic soil, the legacy of thousands of years of activity, displays its lush vegetation to those who follow the numerous paths inland. In this setting, the island offers active fumaroles, scattered across the entire territory, known as ‘Favare’.
The Clubviaggi Mursia and Cossyra Resort is on the north-west of the island of Pantelleria, in the small village of Mursia, in the exact spot where Italy and Africa are geographically the closest and from where you can take in incredible sunsets over the water. It is 2km from the Resort to the main town of Pantelleria and the port, and 5km to the airport. The two buildings, Mursia and Cossyra, have been built in the Mediterranean style.
Mursia sits on the sea whilst Cossyra is a few steps above it.
